The Safari Blue

The original Safari Blue excursion operates from Fumba village and explores the Menai Bay Conservation Area on traditional hand-built wooden boats called "dhows".

The experience includes the boat trip, guided snorkelling with quality equipment, swimming in a mangrove lagoon, a delicious seafood buffet lunch served on a sandbank, a massive tropical fruit tasting and Zanzibari hospitality.

Cold soft drinks and beer are provided en route and you might even spot dolphins. The snorkelling site is great and the location is peaceful. For those wanting to relax on shore, the guides setup a shade tent. After this stop, the boat sets off to a second beach location. Here, guides set up the extensive and fresh seafood BBQ while you relax on the beach. Dinner is followed by a beach walk to a fallen Baobab tree that serves as a climbing frame.

Finally the boat sails round to a mangrove glade and there is the opportunity for a final swim among the trees before the day is done. This is a long and tiring day but most travellers think it well worth it. The team have been creating great days out in Zanzibar since 1996!
